Study the historical development of the ECCE sector in Ireland including legislation, policies, practices and procedures pertaining to ECCE provision.

Look at the rights of the child in the context of the ECCE.

Implement practices and activities to promote equality and value diversity in an ECCE setting.

Understand the importance of Implementing administration and operational procedures.

Be able to participate effectively as part of a team.

Implement care and education routines with children in an ECCE setting.

Maintain a quality ECCE environment that complies with relevant regulations and standards.

This module will start end of March and runs every Monday and every second Wednesday.

Understand the holistic development of the child including physical, cognitive, language, social, emotional, moral, spiritual, creative and cultural.

Study theories of child development and learning.

Look at influence’s of family, social, cultural and environmental factors on child development.

Identify the benefits of play to the child’s holistic development and learning.

Apply theoretical principles of child development in the ECCE setting. Document children’s developmental progress  against normative milestones of development.

This Module will commence mid February and runs every Monday and every second Wednesday.
